When I found out I was having my second baby boy I was so surprised, but obviously very excited. My mind was all over the place thinking about how I was going to juggle 2 babies under 2 years old. My oldest son was 22 months when I delivered a baby boy. It was a hard age gap to handle but I would do it all over again.
Seeing them bond together and actually play together now is such a beautiful thing, I can just sit and watch them play and love on each other all day.
Now with having 2 under 2, its hectic and can be pretty tricky at times, unless you have some pretty important must have items under your belt. I learned about items along the way, thanks to a couple of my girlfriends who had already been through the chaos already.
My most important must-have baby items for 2 under 2 are:
Double Stroller
The BOB Double Jogger was a game changer for my husband and I, we started off with the huge bulky graco double stroller at first. We used it a total of 3 times, seriously, waste of money. Once was at legoland, and let me tell you that was a BIG mistake, it was so hard to maneuver, I felt like I was going to run over feet and toes. Very stressful. We did some research and found the BOB double jogger, obviously we’ve heard about it, my girlfriends wouldn’t stop raving about it. We decided to bite the bullet and buy it. It has probably been the best baby purchase we have ever made. So easy to use and maneuver, the seats recline all the way back which makes it easy for your little ones to nap, and it has a heavy duty break which helps when your going down steep hills. Also it can click connect to basically any brand of car seats as long as you have the specific attachment. Very easy to find on amazon. Backpack Diaper bag
A backpack diaper bag is definitely a game changer. You will need both hands at all times with 2 kids under 2. You can’t be holding around a huge diaper bag on your arm, I promise you it will fall off and get in the way while your chasing after your toddler and holding your baby in one arm. My favorite diaper bag is the Ju Ju Be Backpack, its adorable and very stylish but yet, very efficient. Unlimited pockets and pouches to stuff things in. You will have more items in your diaper back with 2 kids, keep that in mind. The Ju Ju Be Backpack Diaper bag is one of my favorites but I also love the Itzy Ritzy Backpack Diaper Bag as well, it’s efficient and very unique looking and it has so many styles to choose from. Baby Wrap/ Carrier
This item is a must-have most certainly. When you have 2 under 2 you need to have your hands free when your out and about as much as possible. A wrap/carrier gives your arms a break and can easily sub in for a stroller. It is sometimes easier to navigate in places without a big double stroller, like crowded places like airports and stadiums. Trust me its a must-have item. When both my babies were infants I loved the Baby K’Tan Carrier. It is soft and comfortable for mom and baby. Easy to put on, it is actually wrapped already for you when you put it on. So when the baby is a little older I would go back and forth from the K’Tan to the BabyBjorn mini carrier, this was better for an older infant like 6 months. So obviously there are so many other items that you will need but these are my absolute must -have items for moms with 2 kids under 2. I promise you, these will make your life so much easier. Despite all the chaotic moments you will have, there is still so much to be excited for when you have 2.
